These Mango Margaritas spice things up a bit with a delicious turmeric simple syrup and a sprinkling of Tajin chili seasoning. They can also be frozen and taken to-go on picnics.
Combine turmeric, sugar, and water in a sauce pan and bring to a boil on high heat. Reduce to low-medium and cook for 1 hour. Strain out the turmeric and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Mango Margaritas with a Turmeric Chili Twist
Take a lime wedge and wet the edges of your glasses. Drag the rims in Tajin seasoning and put in the freezer.
Cut fresh mango into bite sized pieces and put them on skewers. Sprinkle Tajin seasoning on them and set aside.
Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Frozen mango is difficult because sometimes it seems like it's smooth but there will be hidden chunks in there.
Pour into the glasses, sprinkle some Tajin seasoning on the surface, and place the seasoned fresh mango skewers across the glass. Serve immediately.
Or if you are taking the margaritas on a picnic, pour them in individual small mason jars and freeze. In 10 to 15 minutes the margaritas will be the consistency they were when first blended.
