  • 3 basil leaves
  • 1 strawberry
  • 1 teaspoon Orange Sugar with Szechuan Peppers*
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • 1 ounce Strawberry Shrub with Basil and Peppercorns*
  • Soda water to top or to taste I used Fever-Tree Club Soda

  1. Place some ice in a rocks glass or similar sized glass.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the basil leaves, strawberry, and sugar together until the basil is very aromatic and slightly bruised looking and the sugar is mostly dissolved.
  3. Add the orange juice and shrub and top with ice.
  4. Shake well, until the shaker is very cold and is sweating.
  5. Strain into the prepared glass, top with club soda and garnish. You can garnish with an orange wedge or slice, basil leaves, strawberries, and edible flowers if desired.
