This Mango Aguas Frescas is a wonderful thirst quenching drink with an earthy sweet turmeric addition.

Mango Aguas Frescas

Ingredients

Aguas Frescas

  • 2 mangos peeled and diced
  • 2 cups water separated
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 5 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons turmeric simple syrup

Turmeric Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup peeled and diced turmeric root
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

Turmeric Simple Syrup

  1. Combine turmeric, sugar, and water in a sauce pan and bring to a boil on high heat. Reduce to low-medium and cook for 1 hour. Strain out the turmeric and store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Mango Aguas Frescas

  1. Blend mangos and 1 cup water in high speed blender until smooth.
  2. Pour through a strainer into a pitcher or mixing bowl. Add the other cup of water and mix.
  3. Stir in the lime and orange juices and turmeric simple syrup. Taste and adjust flavoring as desired.
  4. Take a lime wedge and run it along the rims of the glasses. Roll the rims through Tajin seasoning that is sprinkled out on a plate. Pour the Mango Aguas Frescas into the glasses and sprinkle a little Tajin seasoning on top of the drink too.
  5. Or you can pour the Mango Aguas Frescas into ice cube trays or Popsicle molds and freeze for a frozen treat.
