Picnics: A Time to Gather

Picnics. I love them and I’m queen of the lonely explorer type, where I go off by myself. But I also love meticulously planning large social picnics that bring my favorite people together. Picnics are for gathering. For not only gathering family and friends but also your thoughts and mind; experience and sensation.

Because I love them so much, I created an ebook with recipes and game plans for two different types of spring picnics: (1) the brisk morning picnic and (2) the happy hour picnic.

I’ve been doing a lot of trekking and eating by myself lately. It helps calm the busy and frantic pace of my mind (and stops me from crossing into the Prednisone). Because it’s crazy. When I look down at my calendar, I see that there are only two more posts before my surgery. TWO.

There is no recipe today. I understand if you bounce out now. I’m trying to save what I have left for my recovery period. Next week you’ll get a little bit of this…

Meanwhile you can get an ebook full of recipes if you subscribe to my weekly email updates. It’s called Gather: Two Stress Free and Fun Spring Picnics to Plan. This was my first time creating and distributing (is that even the right word?) an ebook. It was an interesting process. I used Canva to create it and ended up kind of loving it. I keep telling myself to learn Photoshop but I think I’m genetically predisposed to not understand it or something.

First times are always rough though. So many things went right and yet so much went wrong too. Of course the most difficult part was not creating the ebook but distributing it. If anyone knows how to make a MailChimp subscriber popup actually work, please share your secret! I spent way too much time trying to figure it out. I fixated on it like a dog with a bone.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post even if there was no recipe. What are your favorite picnic memories? Also, I’m considering having a whole “Gather” category on my blog. Thoughts?
